We all woke up very early this morning on purpose… We wanted our students to make merit in a traditional Thai Buddhist way – Tum-boon-tuk-bat (Food donation to the Buddhist monks)…
I was very fortunate to see this rare scene; peaceful, calm, simple but beautiful way of life of the villagers. I was speechless… please see the photos to appreciate this memorable morning ^^
We then visited the morning market where we bought frogs (kero-kero) as ingredient for our dinner tonight as requested by the girls on the first day…
Our girls also bought Kra-tib-khao (container for sticky rice) and Huad (tool used for steaming the sticky rice)… They really fell for sticky rice 🙂
Today’s schedule was kids activities… all planned and prepared by the students… It was a big relief to see many children attending the session. The children were grouped according to the age, each of which was given a specifically designed game suitable for the age and gender… The parents were not to stay with their kids and were given health education by the remaining HSF staff.
We returned to the house early this afternoon because there was a big event, Culture Night, awaiting… HSF staff had to perform a roleplay to the audience as well but we had not yet started at all!!!
However, we are professionals, an hour rehearsal was more than enough!!! >.< We were ready for tonight…
Tonight’s dinner was special as the girls also cooked traditional Okinawa food for us, I was so happy because I love Japanese food… ^^ The girls got frog soup in return, they seemed satisfied… hahahaha. We didn’t have much time during our dinner, we finished around 5:30pm, so not much talking… everyone was in a rush as we all had work to do…
Ok, see you at the Culture Night…
